How do I ask the barber?

my hair is layered, thinned. the texture is somewhat like this.

See how its kinda poofy and fuzzy on the edges?





I wanna change the style and make it flatter like this.

Whats making it fuzzy? and what do i tell the stylist to make it flat but thin and solid instead of fuzzy?How do I ask the barber?
If u want the perfect cut the best way to assure that u get it exactly to how you would like.. you need to take in that pic.. the ends of your hair look as though they need a trim, be sure to have them trimmed every 4-6weeks if u wanna leave some length. By showing them the pic they will determine if it can be done etc. Best of luck =)
