ONE SHOULD APPLY AS NEAR BY SUCH A SHOP NOT AVAILABLY AND YOU WOULD LIKE TO ESTABLISH.sUCH A LETTER TO BE GIVEN TO AUTHORITY CONCERNED AND WHEN OKED THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO REQUEST FOR A SPACE LIKELY TO BE USED ,PERMISSION TP BE OBTAINED AND WHEN APPROVED MAKE A SHOP LIKE SPACE
.YOU MAY TAKE A LOAN FROM BANK FOR ESTABLISHING THE SHOP BY PURCHASING TOOLS ETC.aLL RULES TO BE OBEYED AS INDICATED IN THE STATE LAWS
Go to http://www.score.org/ and make an appointment with a SCORE counselor.
Does your state require you to have a license to be a barber? If so, and you are not licensed......get licensed. If you are already licensed as a barber, find a space to rent or purchase to place your business. It doesn't have to be a large space either. Just get what you need to accommodate what the products and clientele you have for right now. Once you have your space set up, go to the county clerks office, and get a business license.( That is where you get your business name registered. It's called a D.B.A license) it costs somewhere between $30-$50. I'm not sure if the dept.of health would be involved, but they might, since your doing people's hair. As far as equipment, don't be too flashy in the beginning, let the clients pay for expansion. If you're a really good barber you won't need $800 swivel hydraulic chairs to begin with. God luck with your business endeavors.
You seem to be on the right track. Of course you will probably need financing. Apply for grants and Small Business Loans. Utilize the Small Business Development Center in your area for more information. Good Luck! Hope it works out for you.
