My first year in existing keeper league, I have the first pick and the top 5 available are Jackson, Johnson, Portis, Barber and Gore. Who do i draft? Can I trust Jackson with his holdout? Should i Take Barber?Who do I Draft S.Jackson, Larry Johnson, Portis, Barber, Gore? ?

I would rank it Portis, Gore, Jackson, Barber, Johnson.
I think that Martz will try and use the running more and in more creative ways. In Detroit he never really have a great weapon at RB which was part of the reason they were so imbalanced offensively. Portis is consistently good and Jackson I am weary a little of because the Rams offensive line was so devastated last year. Hardly any running back could succeed behind it that line his success hinges on their health and if new O. Coordinator Al Saunders can make the offense more consistent.
Normally I would say Jackson, no question. But since he is a holdout and his status in uncertain, I am shying away from him. My draft is Saturday and I rank RBs as follows:
Jackson (if holdout ends)
Barber
Gore
Marshawn Lynch
Johnson
Portis
All of them are fantasy beasts who should do well. And my rankings might change in mid-draft depending on what transpires.
Jackson is going to report. He will be the best fantasy running back this season. He has scored every Rams rushing TD over the last 2 or 3 season - every one. Also his new offensive coordinator is big on the run. take Jackson and be happy you got him.
I would take Gore, if J.T. Osullivan wins the starting job I think Gore will have a huge year because J.T. can stretch the field. If he doesnt Gore has shown he can still get the job done and at least will be consistent.
Your only real choices are Portis and Barber. Gore and LJ don't look very good and who wants to hope Jackson shows up. You can't take that chance.
Take Portis, he had the most carries out of any RB last year and he always has good productivity.
